What does it represent?

A different housing choice.

A good home does not always need three bedrooms, a double garage and a large block of land.

The Space House is a complete, factory-built one-bedroom home. It makes a simple idea visible: for one person or a couple, a smaller private home could still be comfortable, dignified and desirable.

It is not the answer to every housing problem. It is one more answer for people who do not need—or do not want—a big house.

Council has approved the planning pathway.

So why can't anyone live in it yet?

The remaining challenge is building certification: establishing a clear, workable pathway that recognises modern manufactured homes while meeting Australian requirements.
